Hawaii Home + Remodeling: BIA Overall Grand Winner, PVA's Kobayashi & Kosasa Family Dining Room

Two outstanding PVA projects were recognized by the Building Industry Design Construction Awards in 2020.

The Kobayashi & Kosasa Family Dining Room at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children won the top honor of the event winning the Overall Grand Champion Award. The Kobayashi & Kosasa Family Dining Room is a unique place of rest, respite, and rejuvenation. The design celebrates the restorative power of our ‘aina and pays homage to our Hawaiian heritage through the use of natural materials, sustainability concepts, and a connection to the outdoors. 

Wai’alae Tropical Modern brought home three awards with an award for Details – Residential, New Residential – More than $999,001 and the Hawaii Home + Remodeling’s Editor’s Choice Award. Wai’alae Tropical Modern is a sanctuary, exemplifying a range of timeless design details that fuse tropical living and sustainable efficiencies with the comforts of modern living. The LEED Platinum, Energy Star, and EPA Indoor AirPlus certified home features natural materials that intertwine indoor - outdoor elements to create a transformative space that embodies a contemporary lifestyle.
