Local Motion Flagship Store

Situated on a designated "gateway" to Waikīkī, Local Motion's two-story, 10,000 SF flagship store was designed to perpetuate the aloha spirit and an ocean lifestyle for the surfing and apparel company.

The project’s signature feature is a "wave" tower, responding to its corner location and paying homage to Waikiki's surfing history. The interior includes a "lifeguard station" DJ booth and a Hawaiian-style café.

The unique design and entertainment features were key factors in being selected as the filming location for MTV's "Real World." Senator Fred Hemmings wrote, "The new Local Motion store is a great asset," and Dr. George Kanahele stated, "I wish every building in Waikiki could evoke the sense of Hawaiianess that Local Motion does."
