Kahala Oceanfront Estate

PVA's unbuilt residence is one of the largest homes designed on Kahala Avenue. The sale of the 3 adjacent oceanfront lots was a record-breaking real estate deal at $34 million.

The 26,000-square-foot estate is designed to LEED Certification standards. To go above and beyond LEED standards, PVA conducted an energy study for the clients' nearby Waimanalo farm. The goal was to create, at minimum, enough energy on the farm to offset the clients’ energy usage, thereby becoming "carbon neutral." The architectural style of the estate is classic and timeless, elegant and stately, with design elements steeped in the local vernacular, including elements of C.W. Dickey and the Doris Duke Estate "Shangri La."
