On October 3rd, more than 175 guests gathered at the Pacific Club to celebrate the launch of Island Homes: Casual Elegance in Design. This 248-page monograph by boutique firm Peter Vincent Architects showcases a stunning collection of residential projects from Hawaii and beyond. Attendees from across the island came together to honor this tribute to architectural design and the unique stories behind each home. The book also highlights several key hospitality and commercial projects that have shaped the firm's legacy.
The book launch began with a blessing from Rev. Kenneth Makuakāne, honoring the partners of Peter Vincent Architects and their guests. Del Beazley led a trio of musicians performing classic Hawaiian music throughout the evening, setting a warm and inviting atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed a variety of heavy pupus, including a hand-rolled sushi station. Guests who purchased the first copies of the book on-island could have them signed. The first fifty attendees received exclusive book packaging, bookmarks, and a tote bag as unique keepsakes.
Hawaiian author and Island Homes contributor Malia Mattoch McManus and her husband Jonathan joined the celebration to help kick off the event. The book, which has been selling out on Amazon, highlights the finest examples of Island residential architecture. This launch marked the first of many book signings and events planned in the coming months.
