Proud of our Office Pavilion Design Challenge Puppy Team! PVA participated in the 40th Anniversary Office Pavilion Hawaii Puppy Design Challenge, a biannual event where ten designers reimagine the iconic Magis Puppy to raise funds for Hawai‘i Fi-Do, a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs. Each year, the pups compete for the coveted title of “Top Dog.”
Our team’s concept, “Barkitecture: The Pawcess of Design,” was inspired by Office Pavilion’s 40-year milestone and created as a celebration of both this achievement and its longstanding partnership with the design community and Hawai‘i Fi-Do.
The design itself reflects the full creative journey behind every project. One half draws inspiration from the design studio process, featuring sketches, study models, and conceptual explorations used to understand massing and communicate design intent. The other half represents the completed vision and the celebration that follows, brought to life through vibrant party streamers and tissue paper. Together, these contrasting elements capture the evolution from concept to completion.
At its heart, “Barkitecture: The Pawcess of Design” celebrates the creative process itself. Every meaningful and lasting design begins with a simple idea sketched on paper. From the projects that inspire us today to the innovations that will shape tomorrow, each one starts with that same spark of imagination.
