About

Jamie Jasina Associate/Interior Design Manager | ASID

5 things you need to know about me ...and 5 things you don't

1. Hot and Cold

Jamie was born and raised in Hawaii and spent 11 years working and going to school in the Metropolitan area of the East Coast. In 2005, she decided that she had enough of the cold and returned home.

2. Did Someone Say "Swag and Jabot"?

Began her career working for two New Jersey high-end residential design firms which both specialized in traditional design. After returning to her college town, the city of Philadelphia, she worked for Lysy Interior Designs in Wilmington, Delaware as a Senior Interior Designer.  There, she was able to expand her talents to a more eclectic style of design and clients included prominent members of MBNA and a Dupont heir.

3. Form + Function

Strongly believes that good design promotes a positive attitude.  Design is a science as well as an art, it may be subjective, but some things have a clear affect on the human condition, even if it's found in a small detail. If someone feels good in a space, she did her job right.

4. Inspired By...

Charles and Ray Eames.  Not only were spaces and furniture enough to design, they explored film making as well.  After seeing the "Power of Ten" she realized that they never thought inside the box, but were always looking outside the box.

5. Monkeying Around

Volunteered at the Honolulu Zoo working with monkeys, tigers and bears, oh my!... seriously.

1. Film Crew

Originally aspired to be a National Geographic Explorer photographer/videographer.  The closest she got was spending 4 years at her college TV station where she participated in Philadelphia community events and local programs.

2. Meaningless Trivia

Loves looking for and knowing copyright dates of movies and songs.

3. CSI

Participated in a summer long Forensic Program at the HPD.  Experiences included firing a variety of guns, retrieving and testing bullets, doing DNA and fingerprinting studies and going on patrol.

4. Musical Prodigy? I Think Not.

Played the violin, french horn and flute, respectively.  It's been 15 years since she read music but plans on taking both guitar and piano lessons... one day.

5. One Thing I Would Have If Stranded on an Island (No Pun Intended)

The album "Ten" by Pearl Jam... and my cats.
